What to Expect in Your First Live Class
If you've never joined a live online class before, it's normal to feel a little unsure about what actually happens once you tap that WhatsApp link. So here's the honest, unglamorous walkthrough — exactly what to expect, start to finish.
Before the class
You don't need to prepare much. A yoga mat helps, but a folded towel or rug works too. Wear whatever you'd move comfortably in — there's no dress code here. Prop your phone or laptop somewhere you can see the screen without craning your neck, and find a spot with a few feet of clear floor around you.
Joining the session
Message us on WhatsApp and we'll send you the link for the next live session. Mornings are when most people join us, but sessions run with flexible timings throughout the day too — so there's almost always one starting soon, whatever time works for you. Click in a few minutes early if you can, just to settle in before we begin.
What actually happens
Every session opens gently — a few minutes of slow breathing to help you arrive, whatever your morning looked like before this. From there, your instructor guides the room through a sequence built for mixed levels, calling out modifications as we go so first-timers and long-time practitioners are both taken care of at the same time. Nobody's watching to see if your pose looks "right." We close with a few minutes of quiet stillness before you head back into your day.
A few things first-timers ask
Do I need to turn my camera on? Yes, we ask you to keep your camera on so your instructor can actually see you — that's how they catch alignment cues and correct your form in real time, the same way they would in person.
What if I can't do a pose? Modify it, skip it, or just breathe through it in a simpler shape. Every instructor calls out an easier variation — that's the point of "all levels."
What if I'm late or miss it entirely? Join whenever you arrive, or catch the recording afterwards if the morning got away from you. There's no roll call.
That's really the whole of it. No perfect poses, no equipment list, no experience required — just you, your mat, and a few quiet minutes before the day picks up speed.
